| - Fountains Abbey, Yorkshire UK
- Britain's largest monastic ruin, Fountains Abbey was founded in 1132 by 13 Benedictine monks seeking to return to a more pure form of their religious beliefs.
They later became Cistercian monks and wore the unbleached sheeps-wool habits which led to them being known as The White Monks. http://www.fountainsabbey.org.uk/estate/theabbey1d.html
